U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary – Beaver Lake
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the non-military, volunteer arm of TEAM COAST GUARD. We work along side the Active Duty Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve within the sphere of Coast Guard civil operations. We are a branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The CGA was founded in 1939 and has stations in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa and Guam. We have over 30,000 volunteers that promote boating safety. We save, on average, over 300 lives annually. The CGA has assisted over 150,000 boaters in distress and we instruct over 500,000 students annually in boating and water safety.
Locally, we teach boating and water safety courses. We conduct free vessel safety exams and distribute other valuable information to boaters. We also provide search and rescue and safety patrols on Beaver Lake.
We are always looking for new volunteers. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month starting at 6:30 pm at the Rogers Airport in the Beaver Lake Aviation Building.
